As of March 9, 2026, we are mobilized for emergency response and support after a fire on Casanova Street in Monterey that displaced approximately 90 residents. For monetary donations to be directed specifically to this cause, please use the information below and specify “Casanova Fire” in the comments on whichever donation platform you use.

Tangible donation items
SPECIAL NOTE regarding tangible donations for the evacuees of the Casanova fire: We have received an extremely generous amount of clothing, shoes and adult diaper/incontinence products from the community, and we are so grateful for the community support. We have paused accepting these items at this time.
Thankfully, as of March 24, one by one some evacuees are moving into new housing, but they are moving with no home furnishings at all, and moving quickly once housing is found. We have been working hard to help get them the basics needed in a home, and will begin accepting donations of furniture in new or excellent condition as well as many of the other items needed to furnish an apartment or condo. For furniture donations, please contact us to arrange a donation. Our new Amazon wishlist (link above) is currently dedicated to these items specific to the current support of the Casanova residents, and will be updated frequently as needs are fulfilled and new needs arise.

For these neighbors as well as for our year-round operations, we are always in need and appreciate donations of new hygiene and cleaning products (however, we are not accepting additional adult diapers at this time).
